Supermarkt

In the heart of the Brunnenviertel, just behind the magic border that divides Berlin-Mitte from Wedding, we are currently creating a new space for events, workshops and the trade with ideas & services. Since February 2012, the Supermarkt is the new creative resource center for northern Brunnenstraße and beyond.

Until ten years ago, the SUPERMARKT was actually a real supermarket. Then it fell into a permanent hibernation for many years. Our friends from Wedding Dress and Trend Mafia used the space every once in a while, but most of the time the supermarkt was just sitting there at Brunnenstraße sad and empty. Until we passed by Brunnenstrasse on a beautiful sunny day in summer 2010 and spotted the big box with the huge glass front. We knew right away that this was the place we have been looking for. And now, one year later we are finally on the homestretch: it took us until mid January 2012 to renovate the space. A big *thank you* goes to the degewo, the owner of the space, who has supported the renovation work. And many more thanks to our friends and families for their help! Now the SUPERMARKT will shine again as a landmark for the whole Brunnenquartier.

The SUPERMARKT is brighter and more functional, but not necessarily posher. The architecture is already beautiful as it is with its massive glass windows on the front, the columns, the big fridges, the fountains and the exciting basement. We are just finishing the construction of the café- and bar area and an infopoint where people can learn all about the Brunnenviertel and the creative producers who are located there.
Our cafébar is open Mo-Fr from 10am to 6pm. We serve coffee, tea, softdrinks and small snacks.

Very soon we will have a retail zone for the sales & trade of ideas, products and prototypes, stuff that can' t be bought elsewhere. All in all, we have space for events up to 300 people. For conferences, lectures or workshops we can offer a stage and seats for 150 people.

Come to the Supermarkt for coffee, to meet people or to buy exciting stuff. Rent the space for smaller or bigger events. You can even become a Supermarkt member. Watch this space for further developments.
